So mostly for my own convenience and recollection-

The Criminalization of Christianity notes: pg. 17
"We've effectively withdrawn from society and built ourselves a nice little subculture that some have referred to as the Christian ghetto. So much for being salt and light in a dark and decaying world. Christians are the only group still in the closet. We'll just hold out in our holy bunkers until Jesus comes, because we are not 'of the world'."

Romans 1
Leviticus 18:22
Leviticus 20:13
1 Corinthians 6:9-10

"Center for Disease Control: the majority of the cases of AIDS in the U.S. are among men who engage in homosexual sex." pg. 20

James 2:17

Absolute truth exists: North is North
- standard's are defiled
- morals are non-existent
- love in a risky way
- morals will never be developed/acquired if truth is never told
- standards will never rise unless they are challenged

Daniel 9:17-19
"Now, Our God, hear the prayers and petitions of your servant. For your sake, O Lord, look with favor on your desolate sanctuary. Give ear, O God, and hear; Open your eyes and see the desolation of the city that bears Your Name. We do not make requests of you because we are righteous, but b/c of your great mercy. O Lord, listen! O Lord, forgive! O Lord, hear and act! For Your sake, O my God, do not delay, because your city and your people bear your name."

Hebrews 10:19
Since we have confidence to enter the most high place by the blood of Jesus... let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith..
..let us hold unswervingly to the faith we profess- because the one who promised is faithful.

FRUSTRATIONS:
teachers cancelling
no finances- unprofessional
not knowing what you're talking about
underlying condescendence
subconcious sense that says "you're lesser" because "I'm staff" or this is part of "your DTS"

There is a consistnt degree of abundancy (flame) in Christian lives.

Christianity in its essence is relationship with God.

To live a life and to encounter the Lord in a way that when we get to heaven, I can say- I knew it! I KNEW you were like that!

Calloused to the reality of the greatest revelation we'll ever have: GOD LOVES US.

Revelation of the bridegroom rejoicing over the bride.

S of S: revelation of a love that transcends gender (sexuality)
1 yr. study of SS

Ps. 45:1;10-11
stirred/captivated listen: as if ready to obey
recite/compose O: God os emotion and overtaking romance
is/becomes daughter: Hebrew: apple of my eye
"The King is enthralled by your beauty."
I'm so aware of my issues and short comings and the midst of all of that- the king is enthralled by my beauty.

The revelation compels us to love him back.
if anything, the time when he is withdrawn is to create a renewed groan in our hearts for him.
Lovers make for better workers than workers.
Zeph 3:17- REJOICE over you with singing
everytime these words (Bible) are read, the author is present. Its not an interaction with words; its not a textbook

AW Tozier's The Pursuit of God

-words have meaning apart from life's circumstances; the best way to understand is to go back to the original language: Hebrew
rejoice- means he "spins around under a violent emotion"

singing- means "shrill, high-pitched, loud, screaming, sound."

grace is the greatest motivation we have to love God.

SofS
groom affirms immature bride continuously and therefore draws immaturity out of her.

Ps. 23
SHEEP-only animal that has zero defense mechanisms and has to rely 100% on it's shepherd
LIVING becomes as simple as striving for the shepherd

fasting, prayer, meditation- you don't fast to make God happy or impressed with me- I fast because he IS happy and impressed by me.

PEACE AND REST AND RESTORATION OF MY SOUL COMES FROM STARING AT THE SHEPHERD, WHO, ALL THE WHILE, IS MADLY, WILDY, RAVISHED, AND SPINNING VIOLENTLY OVER YOU.

3/5/08
Gospel should always be presented in power.. unapologetically supernatural
**release of the revelatory relam**

hunger and desperation lead you to rest and the fulfillment of the cries of your heart

consistent ZEAL of an out of control with love God

FIRE IN YOUR EYES

communion- agreement of covenant
revelation of the romance of the cross
our value is not based on my impact

IT TAKES GOD TO LOVE GOD
it is an act of supreme mercy and grace that I can even feel the emotion of love toward God.
BURN like never before as we live in betroathal
Ps. 27:4 is an example of intimacy
key: gazed upon the beauty of the Lord and received revelation from God's heart; we've robbed God os his approachability in the midst of human failure.

2 Sam. 6- David was all about extravagant love
Expected love vs. Extravagent love
"Far be it for me to sacrifice to God something that has cost me nothing."
David said I'll become even MORE undignified than this
He did what he saw God doing for him. >use the treasury of the Kingdom to give God back the glory
David GAZED at the beauty of God
Unlimited access to the torn curtain >let it bring a longing

SofS CLIMAX:
(8:5)- finally coming together the friends don't even recognize the bride b/c of the tranformation that has taken place.
(8:6-7)- beloved has been convinced of his love.
"Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyeiding as the grave. It burns like a blazing fire, like a mighty flame."

goal: reception developing posture

sensational christians vs. great christians

posture: is getting out of sensational (microwave= instant) and instead press into long term greatness

Daniel 1-6 chronological
Daniel 7-12 amazing, sensational events
80-86 yrs old is when he was in the lion's den; the life that we need to grow and mature in is in the scriptures- we don't NEED angel visits.
Be postured until we're dead.
Postured in a way that I'm receiving the love of God that I can give back to him.
Posture- that allows us to receive lifelong revelation of God's heart is found in spiritual discipline (Daniel- 3x a day praying)
FASTING- about tenderizing; positioning yourself to hear from God.
key to maximizing growth and reception in my life is lerning to discern and agree with the soveriegn spiritual seasons in my life
the more I agree- the more I will bare
the more I posture- the flame is hotter
spiritual disciplines are the banks/boundaries that keep us in the river everlasting.
What is the spiritual season you have in my life right now?
How can I agree and posture myself, according to receive as much as I can so that at the end of the day my heart is flaming.

Moon on Archaic Sea Smoke

This is the first post. I hope this blog will be used frequently, though I cannot promise that it will be, and my blog attempts thus far have fallen miserably short.

I have come to know in the past year a bit of how God has gifted me to communicate through words, and through the written language. He longs to speak to his people, and I long to be a part of that. So it is here that I aim to collect my thoughts and my passions, hash out important issues, and share vision and encouragement.

God is good. He is faithful. He is worthy.
